OZARK ACTORS THEATRE SEEKS EDUCATOR/PERFORMER

Ozark Actors Theatre (OAT) is a small nonprofit professional theater located in Rolla Missouri. We are seeking a passionate, intelligent artist and educator to lead our Summer Theatre Academy (STA) courses for children and young adults. In addition to these duties, we are looking for a director/choreographer to direct our youth production.

Job Requirements:

-Candidate must have a bachelors degree or equivalent training in the theatre industry

-Candidate must have youth direction and/or choreography experience with young adults.

Job Duties:

-Take curriculum plans as set by the OAT education committee and turn them into actionable courses for three weeks of classes.

-Teach those three weeks of courses to young artists aged 7 to 18.

-Collaborate with guest artists and clinicians on workshops involving musical theater, costume design, technical theater, props design, etc.

-Create and file intake forms for students to track their allergies, pronouns, emergency and daily contact information, etc.

-Report progress of programming to the OAT education committee, and the Producing Artistic Director.

-File media release forms for students involved.

-Work closely with OAT education committee lead to create a suitable capstone project for each week’s courses.

-Create a rehearsal schedule for the youth production for the dates of July 21 through August 10.

-Collaborate with designers and volunteers to run a smooth technical rehearsal from August 11 through the 14th.

-Be on site for performances August 15-17.

Housing and travel will be paid by the company.
