Description:

The City of Aubagne pays particular attention to cultural and artistic life. The place of artists in the territory is a key issue in cultural dynamics. The "Support for creation through artistic residencies" scheme is one of the areas of work.
Presentation of the scheme
This scheme is based on the freedom of cultural creation. Candidates will have full latitude to propose the artistic theme(s) as well as the content of the project. 4 areas in which projects can be registered: theater and live shows, visual arts, music and dance, literature.

A grant of up to 2000 euros, a work residency of 1 to 2 weeks within a cultural facility are offered.

The cultural facilities include: Comœdia Theater, Les Pénitents Noirs Art Center, Conservatory, Marcel Pagnol Media Library, Village des santons, Archive and Heritage Service, l'Avant-Scène.

The residencies must present one or more times of mediation, reception(s) and meeting(s) with the Aubagne public: workshops, interventions, open rehearsals, restitutions. Interventions in schools can be organized. The modalities will be studied in collaboration between the winners and the cultural structure.

A maximum of 15 projects will be selected each year.

Application conditions
Domiciliation in the territory of the South Region.
Be eligible to receive public funds (associations, artisans, artists, authors, self-employed).
Application files to be submitted for approval by a jury.
Selection criteria
Artistic quality, originality, aesthetics
Programming of reception times and meetings and mediation with the Aubagne public
Content of the allocated grant
Provision of a workplace and support from technicians if the content of the project justifies it. This provision will be valued in the project budget. The grant is €2,000 maximum per residency. The amount awarded will be determined by the jury according to the candidates' proposal.

This amount includes expenses for transport, accommodation, meals, any technical rentals, and any other additional costs.

No programming is planned at the end of the residencies, but cultural mediation times. The location will be chosen by the jury.

Application procedures
The application file must include:

an application file completed via the platform
a note of intent presenting the project, the artistic motivations, the subject of the residency work, (2 pages maximum)
content of the planned mediations
a file presenting the supporting structure: Statutes, official journal, income statement, balance sheet
an artistic file: CV/career, press kit
a projected budget for the project mentioning the subsidies acquired and/or in the process of being requested
the technical needs of the project
proof of address less than 3 months old
a Siret/Siren extract less than 3 months old
a RIB

non-compliance with the application conditions (domiciliation, legal status)
incomplete file
application deadline exceeded
non-compliance with the selection criteria

Opening of the submission platform: January 13, 2025
Closing of the platform: February 14, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

Only complete files, sent before the deadline for submitting applications files, and meeting the eligibility criteria are presented to the jury.

Criteria for examining files
The jury will meet at the beginning of May. It is chaired by the Deputy Mayor, delegate for Culture.

The winners will be announced at the end of the jury's deliberations by email.

Obligations of the winners
If the project is not successful by the date of the 2nd anniversary of the award decision, all or part of the amount paid must be returned to the City of Aubagne, unless an exceptional extension is granted by the City of Aubagne.

Include the logo of the City of Aubagne on all media, in accordance with its graphic charter, as well as the Support for Creation Laureate 2025 sticker on all communication media (paper and/or digital) and documents relating to the winning project. The City of Aubagne will provide its official logo as well as the sticker.
