December 17 and 18 in Las Vegas
Virgin Voyages is hosting in-person auditions for circus performers to live and perform aboard our Lady Ships, Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady. Our show “Duel Reality” directed by Shana Carroll is a fast-paced
retelling of Romeo and Juliet – with an elaborate circus twist. By stripping this love story down to the core of its conflict and dropping the action into a sporting arena, both the thrills and the danger are heightened.
Sailors have ringside seats to the graceful and death-defying acts while witnessing the two groups grapple with a heart-pounding desire to rise above one another.
- ROMEO AND JULIET - Primary skill: hand-to-hand duo. Porter should porte banquine. Basic
trapeze and/or the capacity to learn.
- REFEREE - Primary skill: diabolo / Secondary skill: some pole and basic floor acrobatics.
- PLANCHE ARTIST 1/TYBALT - Primary skill: Korean plank / Secondary skills: strong floor and
partner acrobatics. Hoop-diving a plus.
- PLANCHE ARTIST 2/MERCUTIO - Primary skill: Korean plank / Secondary skills: strong floor
and partner acrobatics. Hoop-diving a plus.
- POLE ARTIST 1 - Primary skill: Chinese pole / Secondary skill: floor and partner acrobatics.
Hoop-diving and porte a plus.
- Primary skill: Chinese pole / Secondary skill: aerial; basic banquine, hand-to-hand flying. Will
cover Juliet.
- JUGGLER 1 - Primary skill: juggling (preferably balls) / Secondary skills: floor and partner
acrobatics; fly experience a plus.
- JUGGLER 2- Primary skill: juggling (preferably balls, open to clubs, cigar boxes, rings, etc) /
Secondary skill: banquine porter.
- HULA HOOP ARTIST - Primary skill: hula hoop / Secondary skill: aerial.
