Position description
The Department of Contemporary Dance is seeking a unique combination of practicing artist, scholar and pedagogue to teach undergraduate students. With an MFA in Transdisciplinary Performance Practices currently in development, the successful candidate will be expected to assist in finalizing and implementing the new MFA, and eventually to teach graduate students. We are particularly interested in applicants with strong teaching qualifications and experience in all of the following areas: choreographic creation, creative process and movement pedagogies for contemporary dance. Preference will be given to candidates who also demonstrate expertise in two or more of the following areas of our core curriculum: creative and technical aspects of production for dance, dance history, practical anatomy for dance, and / or fundamental music training for dance.
