Job Summary
Harrogate Theatre is looking to recruit a Theatre Technician to work in our busy Production Department. The Theatre is primarily a receiving venue producing our own pantomime and co-producing some work with other theatres and companies.
Job Description
The primary role of the post is to work within, and ensure the safe and efficient working of, the performance and production related areas of Harrogate Theatre with an emphasis on maintaining high standards of service for in-house and incoming productions.
Productions
To ensure the correct and full preparation of the technical requirements for all in-house & incoming productions
To be responsible for the safe and efficient running of all get-ins, fit-ups, performances and get-outs for all in-house and incoming productions, in conjunction with the Senior Technician & Head of Production
To work on performances and to operate stage, lighting, sound & related equipment as scheduled
To work within any schedule provided for the preparation of in-house productions, and inform the Head of Production of any conflicts in advance of the deadlines requested
To ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained in all working areas
To ensure that any necessary maintenance & repairs to production equipment are carried out to the required standard within an acceptable time period
To take responsibility for developing and improving skills in the correct and efficient operation of all equipment maintained by the Production Department, and to inform the Head of Production of any requirements for further training, necessary equipment or assistance health & safety
To be aware of all relevant health & safety legislation, to ensure that guidelines are adhered to and to inform the Head of Production of any areas that require attention
To ensure the correct and safe use of all production related equipment and to inform the Head of Production of any fault or defect that may affect the health or safety of any person
To assist in the ongoing programme of risk assessment and method statement documentation within the production department
To assist in carrying out the regular inspection and testing of all production related equipment according to PUWER, LOLER, IET & other relevant regulations
