Description:Job SummaryTo be responsible for the technical operation supporting the Spotlight’s events & entertainments programme. This role also includes an element of flexibility in assisting in various other departments to ensure the smooth running of the venue. Job Description Liaise with hirers, artists, and managers of incoming shows/events to ensure programmes are successfully operated and delivered to the highest possible standard. To include ensuring compliance to agreed technical riders and the management of "get-ins" and "get-outs" of events where required. To be responsible for the line management of assistant technician(s), including rotation of staff to ensure a high-quality technical service for all events. To undertake planned / preventative and reactive equipment maintenance, including annual PAT testing and assist with facilities maintenance within the public areas. To create and maintain an accurate asset list of all equipment, to include value, estimated life expectancy and value. To be responsible for the annual technical budget and ensure that any relevant technical projects and repairs within the building are completed on time and within budget. Maintenance of a stock control system for technical consumable items ensuring that they are stored in a safe and secure manner. To ensure that all agreed/appropriate and necessary maintenance and safety checks/ inspections are carried out to guarantee the safety of the facilities staff and customers i.e. health and safety inspections, fire / smoke alarm tests etc. To personally ensure that every effort is made to provide all users with the highest possible standards of service and customer care. To work as an effective member of the team and to help develop and promote good teamwork. To personally comply with relevant health and safety legislation and maintain all procedures / work instructions. To attend and participate in team meetings and meetings with potential hirers/promoters. To provide cover for the duties of other staff designations where appropriately experienced and, if necessary, qualified to do so. To demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work flexibly. To take the lead on all in-house productions in the role of Production Manager.
