Description:

Seeking a full-time, 12-month Technical Director to lead technical production for Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Dance in the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts. The Technical Director oversees scenic construction, rigging, load-ins and strikes; develops construction plans, schedules, estimates, and budgets; manages the scene shop and equipment; supervises staff and student employees; and collaborates with faculty, designers, guest artists, and production personnel. The position also serves as Technical Director for major Dance productions.

Teaching opportunities are available. Candidates should have an MFA in Technical Direction, Theatre Production, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with substantial professional technical direction experience. Successful candidates will have experience in technical direction or scenic production, theatrical safety, drafting software, budgeting and scheduling, and supervising production personnel. Working knowledge of carpentry, welding, rigging, scenic painting, and properties is expected.
