POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Purple Rose Theatre Company (PRTC) is a nationally acclaimed professional regional theatre founded by Jeff Daniels; a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We seek a full-time Technical Production Manager to work closely with the managing director, artistic director and associates, production associates, designers, and stage managers to further PRTC’s mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the technical aspects of 4 productions scenic engineering and construction plus fundraising events. Build, hang, focus, install and maintain scenery, lighting, and audio equipment.
Ensure all technical aspects of production are completed within schedule and budget.
Oversee Production Associate (PA) staff of 4.
Maintain and direct the maintenance of theatre and rehearsal facilities including scene shop, storage and consumables storage.
Maintain the Theatre’s production networks including, audio, video, lighting Vlans, routers and switches, lighting consolettes, computers, etc.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE
M.F.A. in Technical Direction or 8+ years Technical theatre leadership experience
Excellence in mathematics and carpentry skills
Rigging and welding (GMAW)
Design ability for simple circuits, electrical, Pneumatics and hydraulics
Dante Level 1 certification
Qlab proficiency
ETC lighting-EOS level 2
Basic computer networking
MS office and/or G suite of productivity tools
IDEAL STANDARDS
Proven record of technical design for theatrical scenery production
Have and maintain in good standing a Michigans drivers license
Demonstrate independence, integrity, and strong communication skills
Able to climb ladders, lift 50+ pounds
Must have a flexible schedule (some nights and weekends required)
Equitable and collaborative team leadership experience
COMPENSATION
$55,000 - $62,000 annual salary (commensurate upon experience)
