Description:SummaryHudson Scenic Studio, an IATSE-affiliated leader in custom scenic fabrication, automation, and painted scenery for the live entertainment industry, is seeking a Technical Designer. Located in Yonkers, NY, we offer competitive hourly wages under the IATSE Local 1 CBA, with standard hours of Monday to Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm, and overtime as needed. Employment depends on active and upcoming projects. Key Responsibilities: Develop technical solutions for the entertainment industry. Create technical drawings for shop builds and load-ins. Draft assembly and installation drawings for client use. Research and order materials/hardware. Communicate with construction teams and assist in commissioning units. Work with Project and Production managers to meet budget and schedule goals. Coordinate with the client during design and construction phases. Assist with quality control. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Technical Theatre, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of relevant experience in technical design. Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, 3D AutoCAD, and Microsoft programs. Knowledge of Mastercam, Vectorworks, Revit, Rhino, Photoshop a plus. Strong stagecraft knowledge; shop fabrication experience recommended. Winch & rigging design experience preferred. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to lead under pressure.
