Description:Job Description / DutiesEvent & Program Delivery: Lead, supervise, and train staff, contractors, and volunteers. Coordinate and execute all technical requirements. Meet with clients to review needs, prepare estimates, and source equipment. Schedule staff, contract/casual employees and volunteers to resource events appropriately. Coordinate OH&S checks with the Head Technician. Work with clients to ensure contractual obligations are met. Oversee event setups, strikes, and technical problem solving during performances Support Broadway North productions and Centre programming Planning, Projects and Maintenance: Develop and maintain technical procedures, standards and specifications. Plan and coordinate annual technical and facility maintenance, including operational and capital projects. Maintain accurate equipment and staging material inventories and capital replacement plans. Stay current on production technologies and safety standards. Volunteer Program: Support volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement. Deliver technical workshops for volunteers. General Duties: Monitor and manage event and annual technical budgets. Maintain a capital replacement program. Ensure compliance with OH&S, regulations, bylaws, City policies, and Centre procedures. Provide professional communication and customer service to all stakeholders. Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications / Required Skills Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Technical Theatre or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum four (4) years’ professional experience as a Head Technician, Technical Director, or similar position. Three to five years’ experience with facility and theatre operations. Proficient as lighting technician and lighting console operator. Experience with ETC EOS family console software or industry equivalent an asset. Skilled in live sound mixing. Experience with Yamaha sound consoles or industry equivalent an asset. Experience with SFX sound playback software or industry equivalent an asset, stage carpentry, and rigging. Training/certifications in fall arrest, aerial lift, pyrotechnics, and computer/networking considered assets. Class 5 driver’s license. Key Knowledge, Technical Skills and Abilities: Strong technical theatre knowledge across lighting, sound, rigging, and stagecraft. Skilled with Microsoft Office and event/ticketing software (EventPro, Showpass). Ability to read and produce technical drawings (AutoCAD an asset). Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills; demonstrated team leadership and ability to work independently. Physically capable of lifting, climbing and working at heights. Flexible to work daytime, evenings, weekends and irregular hours as required. Salary: $5,753.00 - $6,991.00/Month
