Description:

Function:

Oversee lighting and audio operations in the Studio Theatre for the 2025–2026 season, including both rentals and Skylight-produced events.
Act as the main technical contact for Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, the Studio’s primary rental tenant.
Assist with technical work in the Cabot Theatre during non-active weeks in the Studio.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead all lighting/audio needs for Studio Theatre events, including maintenance and equipment upkeep.
Oversee installs and technical rehearsals for all rental productions.
Review light and sound plots for feasibility and implementation.
Install systems according to designer specifications (tech tables, headsets, monitors, etc.).
Maintain accurate paperwork and archive show files.
Maintain audio, lighting, and video distribution equipment.
Serve as primary board operator (ETC Nomad, QLab) for rental productions.
Ensure proper shutdown and secure storage of all technical equipment.
Attend meetings as required (production, feasibility, staff, etc.).
Support Cabot Theatre productions when available (lighting, audio, scenic, props, crew coverage).
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Production & Facilities.
Skills and Training:
BA/BFA in Theatre or equivalent professional experience.
Training in technical theatre (lighting, sound, projections, rigging, basic stagecraft).
Proficiency in QLab and ETC Element console.
Computer skills in both Mac and Windows; ability to multitask and prioritize.
Teamwork, strong communication, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

Able to lift up to 75 lbs and work on ladders.
Visual, auditory, and manual dexterity needed for safe tool and rigging operation.
Must be available for irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
