Description:About the RoleThe Hylton Performing Arts Center is seeking part-time Stage Technicians to support events at our rental venue, which hosts local, national, and international performance groups as well as conferences and events. This is a generalist position, and specialization in one field is not required—there is room to learn and grow through in-house training and mentoring. Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to): Audio/video setup and strike. Lighting hangs and focus. Assist with rigging of drops, scenery, lighting pipes, etc. Support load-ins and load-outs. Clean stages, storage areas, and workspaces. Perform cleaning and light-duty maintenance of stage, lighting, sound, and related equipment. Light-duty carpentry and setup. Operate the fly system for raising/lowering scenery and lighting. Operate lighting, audio, and video consoles. Perform run-of-show tasks (moving scenery/microphones, running follow spot, etc.). General non-technical equipment setup and strike. Preferred Skills Experience in one or more of the following: Stage Management Stage Electrical Stage Carpentry Counterweight Fly Systems Audio A1/A2 Required Skills Experience in a maintenance or laborer environment. Proven record of punctuality. Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends. Comfort working at heights (personnel lifts/ladders of 15’+). Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Patience and teamwork skills. Personal transportation. Compensation Pay Rate: $17–$27/hour, depending on experience and technical expertise.
