For the new season, beginning in September/October, the RENAISSANCE THEATER BERLIN is seeking a
temporary/part-time stage technician or carpenter for the stage technology and workshop departments.
About us:
Europe's only completely preserved Art Deco theater is located in the heart of Berlin-Charlottenburg. In this unique "jewel of theater architecture," outstanding actors, often known from film and television, present the latest and most interesting hit plays from London, Paris, and New York—the best entertainment in tune with the times—both critical and entertaining.
Since the mid-1990s, the Renaissance Theater's repertoire has been dedicated to contemporary international drama. The theater's program critically examines current social developments. In addition, readings and other literary events are regularly staged at a small secondary venue. -
Requirements:
Experience in theatre and/or event technology
Welcome to career changers
Permanent temporary position (with 25 / 30 hours, can be more if needed)
If possible, with training as an event technician, electrician, carpenter, metalworker, decorator or interior designer
Driving license class B and/or class C1
Joy and talent for communication
working independently
with good personal, social and professional skills
Willingness to work in the evenings and at night as well as on weekends

stage technology / house / rehearsal stage / workshop
marking and setting up the rehearsal decorations on the rehearsal stage
Assistance in setting up the stage decoration on the main stage of the Renaissance Theatre
the procurement and maintenance of decorations or parts required for ongoing performances
setting up the evening performances
dismantling and loading the decorations, as well as storing them in the workshop/warehouse
preparing and compiling materials for guest performances
Collaboration in the workshop during the construction of the decorations
transporting the decorations with the theatre vehicles
Guest performance preparation and support

Type:
This is a temporary / part-time position / employment on stage and in the workshop. The number of hours per week is usually 25-30. However, more hours may be required during production periods.
Overtime is possible as needed!
Start: by arrangement.
