Description:DescriptionL.A. Dance Project seeks an experienced Stage Manager to join the company for international and domestic touring engagements. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting complex, large-scale performances in theaters around the world. A strong background in stage management for dance, theater, and/or opera is essential. The successful candidate will be a skilled multi-tasker, a clear and effective communicator, and possess strong time management and detail-oriented documentation skills. While on tour, the Stage Manager collaborates closely with the Lighting Director, Production & Tour Manager, and Associate Artistic Director. Key Responsibilities Run all in-theater rehearsals, including technical rehearsals. Call performances and/or serve as a roaming/deck Stage Manager as needed. Track the creation of and document sound, set, and lighting cues. Manage and maintain all production wardrobe in coordination with and instruction to local crew. Learn existing repertory from video and archival stage management paperwork. Create and distribute clear daily schedules to the full touring company (dancers and administrative staff). Compile and submit daily performance reports. Desired Qualifications Note: L.A. Dance Project is committed to an equitable and inclusive workplace. Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Ability to travel internationally; must possess a valid passport without travel restrictions and have completed a COVID-19 vaccination program. Comfortable using and communicating via ClearCom (or similar) headset/microphone systems. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Broad knowledge of industry-standard theatrical working practices, especially technical elements. Fluency in reading sheet music. Los Angeles/Southern California residents preferred.
