Job Description / Duties

Special Effects Technician
As a Special Effects Technician, you will first learn about our equipment, effects, and safe working procedures. You will begin in the warehouse handling day-to-day operations of rentals and inventory, where you will gain exposure and knowledge of our extensive gear catalogue. You will assist with load-ins, setup and strikes with our production team. With time and training, you will work towards executing events independently.

General Duties:

Assist with equipment maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and testing for all product lines, including flame / atmospheric / laser/water and confetti equipment.
Processing Inbound and Outbound orders
Equipment & Product Delivery
Quality Control Checks of Machines.
On-Site Assistance with load-ins, set-ups, operation, strikes
Ensure the warehouse is organized and neat and kept free of obstructions.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications / Required Skills

You Must have:
- Positive attitude
- Be Self Motivated
-Be Detail orientated
-Problem Solving Skills
- Able to function within time constraints and effectively with a team
- Previous Experience and/or knowledge of Theatre or Live Performance industry in a technical capacity or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver’s License – Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Previous driving experience - Comfortable driving vans / Cube Trucks
Be organized, reliable, and safety conscious

You Should have:
- ERD Pyrotechnician / Display certification FOCs – if not training will be provided
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and manage time
- Customer Service Experience
- Understanding of Show Control - DMX
- Experience in Wood Working / Soldering / Metal fabrication is beneficial but not required.

AirMagic’s priority is to find the right people with the “Must Have” qualifications and is willing to train the applicants that demonstrate these key qualities.

Salary: 50,000 to 55,000 to start depending on experience
