Harlow Playhouse is recruiting a Sound Technician to be part of the technical team assisting in the backstage responsibilities of running this increasingly busy venue. The emphasis of this role is towards all aspects of Sound to support our varied programme.
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Sound Technician to join our technical team. This role focuses on sound but also involves lighting, stage management, and flying. Reporting to the Technical Manager, responsibilities include maintaining backstage areas, operating sound equipment, liaising with incoming companies, and ensuring smooth performances.

Job Requirements
Knowledge of technical theatre is required for this role and the ideal candidate will have experience programming Yamaha consoles and be able to rig, cable and focus lanterns.

To assist in the facilitation of technical operations, and performances and events at Harlow Playhouse.

To assist and design as required on all events and performances at the Playhouse.

To be flexible with regards to required duties and times to ensure that all events proceed in an organised and efficient manner.

To be polite and courteous at all times, especially when working in challenging situations.

To supervise casual technicians where required and deputise for the Technical Manager in their absence.

To promote ideas for better working practise if relevant and to be willing to adopt new working patterns and methods as and when required.

Job Responsibilities
To offer all relevant technical assistance and advice to any visiting company or contractor in order to provide the best possible service.
