Description:

The Sound and Lighting Assistant works closely with the sound and lighting supervisors, designers, and the sound and lighting crew, as needed. The ideal candidate is positive, self-motivated, organized, collaborative and professional. Candidates must have experience working with theatrical sound and lighting systems. Duties include working as a member of the sound and lighting crew on all aspects of hang, load-in, focus, tech notes, and strike. The sound and lighting assistant will also serve as board op, A2, spotlight op, or other positions as needed for the run of our mainstage and black box productions and rentals. Other duties include helping to maintain inventories and assisting other departments as needed.

While this position's focus is Sound, the role assist the Lighting department as well.


Qualifications: Candidates must have experience working with theatrical sound systems.


Direct Supervisor: Sound Supervisor

Employment Term: January 12 (Ideal Start Date) – July 5, 2026


COMPENSATION:
The compensation for this position consists of a weekly rate of $369.60, plus shared housing that is fully furnished and includes all utilities, valued at $250 per week. This brings the total weekly taxable compensation to $619.60, which equals $15.49 per hour for a 40-hour workweek. If housing is not required, the position will be compensated the full weekly amount of $619.60, which equals $15.49 per hour for an 40-hour week. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule.

This is a non-exempt position, meaning overtime pay is available after 40 hours per week, at a rate of $23.24 per hour (time and a half). Travel expense reimbursement may be available.
