We are looking for a Sound Designer for a BSL-integrated show about a female astronaut. Maria in the Stars is a thrilling space adventure which follows the journey of Maria as she races to find signs of life on Mars before her rival, helping the audience to learn BSL along the way!
Job Description
We are looking for a Sound Designer for a BSL-integrated show about a female astronaut. Maria in the Stars is a thrilling space adventure for children aged 7+.
When the Queen offers a medal to whoever can find signs of life on Mars, budding astronaut Maria jumps at the chance! Whilst in space, Maria is reunited with the Rover that her Grandma lost on Mars years before. However, they find that they have more than just the Red Planet's treacherous landscapes to worry about…
Is there life on Mars? And is it worth leaving Earth? Maria on the Stars invites audiences into a dynamic space race which asks whether reaching for the stars means having to leave people behind.
The show uses projection, creative captioning and a live video feed. We're looking for a Sound Designer excited to bring an extra dimension to the show's rich interstellar landscape!

Fee: £1000 (£200pd for 5 days)
Job Requirements
Required:
enthusiasm for children's theatre
experience designing sound for small-scale, touring shows
a positive, pro-active attitude and ability to problem-solve
strong communication and teamwork skills
Job Responsibilities
Duties include:
collaborating with the creative team to create a sound design for the show
liaising with the producer on technical requirements
other duties as required to ensure high-quality sound design
