What you will do in your role as Shoemaker: · Make shoes from technical documents on time and suggest improvements if necessary; · Interpret, make and modify shoe patterns; · Cut parts manually and with the press used in the manufacture of shoes; · Assemble (sewing) shoe parts; · Assemble and finish the shoes; · Perform fittings with the artists in collaboration with the various stakeholders; · Participate and develop prototypes from an idea, an image or a sketch, taking into account the constraints in the context of artistic and acrobatic performance; · Ensure the integration of new work techniques developed; · Apply the procedures and standards of the Cirque du Soleil Group; · Gather the information necessary for the development of technical documents, write them and update them while ensuring their accuracy; · Maintain tools and equipment; · Contribute to the development of the skills of your peers; · Provide assistance as needed to other sectors of activity within the costume workshops; · Self-check the quality of your work and have it validated, if necessary, by a resource person; You have everything you need for this role if you already have: · Diploma in college studies (DEC) in leather goods, training in shoemaking or equivalent; · Minimum of three (3) years of experience in forming, patterning, cutting, assembling and assembling shoes; · Mastery of different techniques related to shoes; Ability to perform work requiring regular repetitive movements, precision and thoroughness and which may require a certain physical effort; · Computer skills; · Artistic sense, creativity and curiosity; · Autonomy, sense of organization, versatility, flexibility and resourcefulness; · Ability to use and handle certain chemicals; Ability to adapt to changes and work to tight deadlines; Fluency in French and English (spoken and written); · Availability to travel abroad as required.
