Description:We are looking for a talented Set Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with our production team to design and create visually stunning sets that bring our R&D production Dorothee in the 20th Century: Saturday SoupYou're design will create key elements of a UK African and Caribbean living room over the 1960's to 1990's. Our vision is to create a set that hat brings the images typically seen in a UK African and Caribbean photo album of their household to life. The space for your design is a library/performance space. Job Requirements - Bachelor's degree, professional training in set design, theatre design, or a related field. - Strong design skills, including the ability to create scale models and sketches of set designs. - Knowledge of construction techniques and materials. - Excellent project management skills, including managing budgets and deadlines. - Strong communication skills, including collaborating effectively with other production team members. - Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence. Fee: £1000 Set Design budget: To be confirmed with the designer. Job Responsibilities - Work closely with the production team to develop a set of designs that will immerse the audience in elements of the environment of late 20th century UK African and Caribbean households. - Collaborate with other members of the production team, including directors, lighting designers, and costume designers, to ensure that the set design complements the overall vision of the production. - Source materials and oversee the construction of the set. - Manage the budget for each set design project. - Attend rehearsals and make adjustments to the set design as needed. - Ensure that all set designs meet safety standards and regulations.
