Sweetshop Revolution are seeking two professional dance-theatre artists or actors, male or female, to join the company for the creation and tour of a new full-length work. Joining a tea of five dancers, working with improvisation – to create a new work.

Sweetshop Revolution are seeking two professional dance-theatre artists or actors, male or female, to join the company for the creation and tour of a new full-length work. It’s about how we live in relation to death – both literally and metaphorically. As a company, we work with improvisation and are looking for experienced people aged approx 33-83, who have life experience of either losing someone they loved or the end of a relationship. Good contact work, strong text, and an ability to be emotionally honest are all helpful. In terms of age, ex-professional contemporary dancers are especially welcome, as we’re keen to cast older performers in the work.
As a company, we see people as artists in their own right and are interested their perspectives. We want to talk to global majority dance artists; full or partial African Diaspora, East / South Asian, and Latin American heritage. LGBT, non-normative body types, trans and disabled artists. Touring 2022

10th-14th May (Working in care homes and hospices – is presently a maybe)
5th – 21st August Edinburgh tbc
17th October – 12th November
Fee
Approximately £575 – £625 a week, depending on age and experience.
