Seeking hard-working, experienced head dance coach for an Upper East Side / West Side competitive dance school for the 2023-2024 season, beginning with a Summer program in June.

No stranger to performing at some of the city’s largest venues, the company has performed at the halftime shows for both the New York Knicks and the Harlem Globetrotters. SSDC coaches range from National Basketball Association and National Football League pro-team dancers, celebrity back-up dancers and Broadway stars alike.

Shooting Stars encourages girls to find their voices, and develop lifelong friendships through performing arts. The company consists of talented dancers ages 6 – 18, all of whom auditioned to be in the company. The students of SSDC have won over 800 titles at some of the largest Dance Competitions in the Country; gone on to receive scholarships; and many continue to dance on elite college teams. The renowned dance company has been featured in W Magazine, AGT, HBO, Teen FOX News, and performed for The Harlem Globetrotters, NY Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, and NY Jets. Shooting Stars dancers are well-versed in all styles of dance including hip- hop, street jazz, lyrical, acro, musical theater, and contemporary.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Shooting Stars is seeking a former or current Pro-Team dancer to work as head coach for some of our most elite teams. Hard-working, reliable, and passionate about educating students through dance! This Coach will lead events teams (I.e groups performing at halftime events such as Barclays). Innovative, creative and professional-level choreography will be taught to these dancers.


TRIAL PERIOD: Candidates will be asked to teach a brief trial class at our UES location during the week of 6/12-6/14 or 6/19-6/21 (more info to be disclosed).


STARTING RATE: $40/hour for PRO-TEAM DANCERS / based on experience
