Description:CHHAYA COLLECTIVE are seeking one female identifying dancer to join our development and tour of KHAOS in 2022, which centres around female empowerment and freedom of speech.Where: Pavilion Dance South West (PDSW), UK When: Thursday 9th December 2021 Deadline for applications: Friday 3rd December 2021 @ 9.00am We are looking for a strong performer, with the ability to be emotionally honest and expressive, and who demonstrates a powerful movement language, good contemporary technique, improvisation skills and contact work. The dancer should be open to working theatrically with both our Artistic Director and Physical Theatre Director, and comfortable using their voice as an expressive tool. We are looking for a dance artist who identifies as being from the Global Majority, of which are currently under-represented in the company. We welcome applications from those who have lived experience of gender-based discrimination, harassment or abuse and who relate to the issues we are addressing through our performance work and outreach programmes. Please note that this information does not need to be disclosed. DATES The selected dance artist must be available for ALL of the dates detailed below: 4th – 8th January 2022 25th – 29th January 2022 11th, (18th tbc) February 2022 10th, 18th, 20th March 2022 6th, 9th April 2022 3rd – 9th October 2022 *More dates TBC Fees for the project are equity rates and above + travel, accommodation and expenses Applicants must be based in England and have the right to work in the UK Please note that the audition will be invitation only.
