Sam G Creates is led by Sam Gilroy, a Southampton based choreographer who collaborates with community members and professional artists of all ages to create inspiring performances. Sam’s work brings personal stories and everyday experiences to the stage with the aim to elevate and empower performers and audiences.
We are seeking one female identifying dance-theatre performer to join the development and pilot tour of our new indoor show, F WORDZ. Themes include unique and universal female experiences of periods, sex, menopause, pleasure and power.

We are looking for a strong performer, with the ability to be emotionally honest and expressive, and who demonstrates a powerful movement language, good contemporary technique, improvisation skills and contact work. The performer should be open to working theatrically with both our Artistic Director and Physical Theatre Director (tbc), and comfortable using their voice as an expressive tool.
We are seeking a performer aged 25 – 40+, who may identify as being from the Global Majority, and who may be from a working class background. We are especially interested in working with people living in Hampshire / Dorset, and people who reside no more than 90 minutes from Bournemouth. We welcome applications from those who have lived experience of gender-based discrimination or abuse and who relate to the issues we are addressing through our performance work and outreach activities. CREATION DATES
The selected performance artists must be available for ALL of the dates detailed below:
22nd – 26th August 2022
5th – 10th September 2022
12th – 16th September 2022
19th – 23rd September 2022
FEE
Fees for the project are £575 per week (inclusive of holiday and pension contribution) + travel, accommodation and expenses. Applicants must be based in England and have the right to work in the UK.
