CASTING FOR SUMMER 2023!

Seeking artists for our 2023 “Circus in the Parks” season of shows throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Beyond.

Circus Bella’s mission is to produce and present high-quality Circus Arts entertainment, accessible to all audiences. We are excited to return this summer with our “Circus in the Parks” series of FREE community performances in Parks and open spaces. The show, entitled Bananas!, features our live Circus Bella All-Star Band and the Circus Bella ensemble company, performing in an outdoor ring.

SEEKING:

Dynamic act(s): appropriate for all ages and cultural sensibilities.

Specifically looking for high energy, acrobatic acts, ie: Risley, Rola Bola, 2-person teeterboard, Russian bar, etc.

We are currently not casting Aerial Acts, Clowns, Contortionists, Cyr Wheel, Hula Hoopers, or Jugglers at this time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A willingness to lift, carry haul set-up tear-down (ie. participate in the grunt of the show beyond just performing their act)

The ability to perform outdoors with and within the natural elements

The ability to perform on a variety of surfaces - ie grass and concrete

The ability and experience of working and creating alongside others

The ability to perform and collaborate with a live band

Although not essential, club juggling and passing skills are an asset

COMMITMENT:

Rehearsals run May 16 - June 6, 2023. Performances run on weekends, from early June through the end of July. Most shows are in the Bay Area with additional dates in Southern California and Reno, NV. Must be available on weekends and some Fridays. Outside the Circus in the Parks season, there are opportunities for additional performances as well as teaching engagements during the week.

COMPENSATION:

Company members receive a competitive hourly wage dependent on rehearsal participation, performances, and experience. Compensation for housing and travel is also available. At this time, performers must have United States citizenship or be legally authorized to work in the US.
