About the Production
“F(olha)/Leave” is a new dance-theatre piece for young audiences (ages 3.5 to 6). The performance explores themes of nature, change, letting go and growth through movement, sustainable play, and visual storytelling. It unveils the entire life cycle of a leaf and its parallels to human life, offering layers of meaning for both children and adults. By encouraging the audience to observe (“olhar” in Portuguese), collect, listen, find connections, and use leaves in creative ways, F(Olha) inspires a deeper appreciation for them.
Requirements
Strong background in contemporary dance
Ability and/or will to connect with young audiences
Collaborative spirit and willingness to contribute to the creative process
Availability for the entire rehearsal and performance schedule (see below)
Fluency in English; Portuguese language skills are a plus
Schedule
Rehearsals in Belgium: January 27 – February 7, 2025
Rehearsals in Portugal: February 10 – 21, 2025
Try-out performances in Belgium: March 3 – 5, 2025
extra Rehearsals in Portugal: 10-14/3/ 25 (TBC)
Premiere in Portugal: March 23, 2025
Performance at Teatro-cine, Torres Vedras: May 15, 2025
