DESCRIPTION
Triple Promise Academy for the Performing Arts, a premier musical theatre training program for children and teens in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, seeks two professionals - a MUSIC DIRECTOR* and a CHOREOGRAPHER - to join its creative team for a summer production of "Oliver, Jr." Performers in the show will range in age from 8-18.
Auditions: Friday, July 1st from 10 am - 4 pm (REQUIRED)
Rehearsals: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1-4 pm from July 6th - August 19th, plus tech week/production week (details below)

(You will not have to attend every rehearsal; for example, the music director will not have to be present for choreography rehearsals, and vice versa; the team will sit and map out a schedule that works for everyone at the top of the production period. Music Director and Choreographer should be available for at least approximately 6 hours per week during this time, and must be available for all of tech week, including BOTH SHOWS; the $2500 salary breaks down to approximately $75/hour).
PRODUCTION WEEK:
Monday, August 22nd from 10 am - 4 pm - TECH REHEARSAL
Wednesday, August 24th from 10 am - 4 pm - TECH/DRESS REHEARSAL
Saturday, August 27th from 12 pm - 6 pm - TECH/DRESS REHEARSAL, 8 pm OPENING NIGHT
Sunday, August 28th - 8 pm FINAL SHOW
Ideal candidates should enjoy being a part of a high-energy collaborative team, have patience, and a good sense of humor, and enjoy working with children of all ages and experience levels. We are an educational program first, so most of our students are not professionals.
In addition to the rehearsal for the show, we will be simultaneously filming a pilot for a reality series on the transformative power of theatre education. The Music Director & Choreographer will most likely be featured in this series at some point, so candidates must be comfortable on camera. There is no additional pay for the reality series, but you will receive credit for your appearances when we begin shopping it around. (You will not have to do much additional "labor" for the series; just prepared to have your rehearsals filmed and occasionally be interviewed about student progress. The kids are the real stars of the series).
All work MUST be done in person, face-to-face. No Zoom-ins for any reason, so if you are not available for all of the dates listed above, please do not apply.

*Music Directors please note: This show is part of the MTI Junior Collection, so our license requires that we use the accompany (karaoke) tracks that come with the Show Kit. Therefore, there are no conducting or orchestral duties with this position.
