We are looking for an experienced circus trainer (with great references) who is looking to transition to high school teaching with circus as one of their teaching specialties. Must have a Bachelor's degree and be willing to study a Masters of Teaching as a postgrad or be willing to study education as an undergraduate degree. Salary range for a Classroom Teacher in the ACT (Australian Capital Territory) as of 2020 is $73, 246- $109, 641 with 12 weeks annual leave.

The University of Canberra High School, Kaleen in Canberra, ACT is offering a 0.2-0.4 position for the 2021 school year for a circus trainer on the elective program (at school administration rates), who is also interested in pursuing teaching as a career. Ideally, they would work with the teacher on the circus elective classes (employed by the school) and study a Masters of Teaching (ANU or UC are local options).

We are looking for an experienced circus trainer to work
closely with Pip Scott on the elective classes delivering skills training in a diverse range of disciplines, assist with performances and promote circus as a school subject. Succession planning for the classroom teacher position is a priority. However, there is currently a need for teachers with circus backgrounds in Australian schools, so there are broader opportunities available in the future.
