Summary
As the scenic carpenter, you will bring into reality the scenic designer’s vision. You are a craftsperson with a wide range of skills in woodworking, welding and rigging. You will be part of collaborative team; building, installing and removing all the elements that make up the scenery for all Hartford Stage productions.
You will be:
• Devising and executing techniques and approaches that will assure quality, paint-ready scenery with the lead carpenter, and assistant technical director, and technical director
• Preparing cut lists, fixtures and jigs for specific projects
• Working collaboratively and inclusively, mindful that we each bring our own unique styles, thinking, cultures, and talents to the team

Requirements
• Working knowledge of both framing and finish carpentry techniques, drafting and blueprint reading, and basic rigging knowledge and skills.
• Experience as a carpenter in a professional theatre or comparable experience
• Ability to lift 75 pounds due to the nature of this role
• Valid driver’s license
Bonus points:
