Description:About Us:Exclusive Events, Inc. is an Event Design and Technical Production Company that fabricates sets and furniture pieces for all social and corporate events. Exclusive Events, Inc. employs technicians familiar with theater lighting, carpenters, scenic artists, craft and fabric artisans, and event designers on a full-time basis. Exclusive Events, Inc.'s fabrication shop and warehouse are located in the suburbs of St. Louis, MO, while traveling nationwide for installation and removal of our designed events is occasionally expected. Department Hiring: Scenic Artist: Scenic Artists finish, paint, and produce scenery for event productions. Scenic Artists will work under the supervision of the Charge Artist to assist in mixing paint, creating samples, and executing scenic techniques and treatments. Job Responsibilities Touch up painted surfaces on previously built units and furniture Perform theatrical scenic painting: marbling, wood graining, stonework, brickwork, and textured finishes (painted and physical) Execute fine detail work, including monograms and lettering Demonstrate an understanding of scale, proportion, and layout Mix paint to match samples using a solid understanding of color theory Work with various paint types: house paint, Rosco, oil paint, stain, tints, specialty metallics, spray paint, solvents, and craft paints Ensure quality control: even coverage, no drips, and adherence to renderings Maintain and clean all paint tools and equipment, including brushes and sprayers Monitor and report paint inventory to the Charge Artist Keep the paint space clean, organized, and safe for multi-project use Prepare on-site touch-up kits for event installations Collaborate with Charge Artist and other departments to stay on schedule Assist with truck loading/unloading at both the shop and event site Set up and strike materials at events, packing them neatly for return Lift and move objects weighing 50+ pounds Schedule: There is no typical day, as each day can bring a new event and a new approach. On Tuesday, you will receive your project assignments for the week and learn and grow with your scenic application. Painters also participate in the technical setup and removal of events and provide paint support at the event location. Saturday involves loading in all rental items (bars, furniture, stages, drape, etc.) and installing a lighting design. The venue can be a hotel ballroom, a banquet hall, an outdoor tent, or many other on-site event locations. If all goes well, the event load-in is completed by 3 pm, and there is a break for the day. A return would be between 10:30 pm and midnight to unload and strike the event into the trucks. Every effort is taken to remove events the next day. Two days a week off is the norm. Ideal Candidate: We are merely looking for a teachable, motivated, hardworking, self-sufficient, team player, and a pleasant individual to join our team. HUSTLE and a self-start attitude will ensure success. If you have technical theater skills, that would be a plus, but not a deal-breaker. No college degree is required. Reliable, consistent transportation is required. Hours and job site locations will vary; therefore, personal transportation is mandatory.
