Circa’s Resident Directors are forces of nature – fierce, resourceful, indefatigable and supremely adaptable. They work closely with Circa’s Artistic Director Yaron Lifschitz and the Artistic Team to nurture and deliver Circa’s art across the Company and around the world.
The Resident Directors are key members of our artistic team; managing artists and leading rehearsal processes. On tour, they act as company manager, show director and sometimes sound operator, driver and logistician. The role calls for someone resourceful and energetic,
great at creative problem solving and always able to champion our art.
There are multiple paths to becoming a Circa Resident Director including theatre director, circus artist or creative producer. A good sense of humour is an advantage.

Key Details
- The role is based in Brisbane, Australia with extensive national and international travel
- Employment Basis: Full time. Salary from AUD $75 000 plus 11% superannuation, 4 weeks per annum annual leave
- Flexible employment arrangements including creative slots out, work from home, remote work and creative leave are negotiable.
- Frequent weekend and out-of-office hours work are required
- Knowledge of circus, languages other than English and music are all advantages.
