Award winner creative agency and entertainment consultants Allstars U.S.A and luxury lifestyle Maxx Royals create, develop and produce entertainment concepts, venues and live stage shows to enhance the live experiences of ultra premium resort guests. There’s room for everyone in the cast to be noticed during a 60 minute show, and it’s up to the resident choreographer / rehearsal director to ensure they are noticed for the right reasons!
This position is a Full-Time Seasonal exempt role that works closely with the Artistic Director, and performers to fulfill the mission to bring the best possible artistic product to performances and stages. The Resident Choreographer / Rehearsal Director reports to the Artistic Director and is responsible for the training and development of all Artists in association with Head Choreographer. The role interfaces with all Rehearsal Directors, the Assistant Artistic Director, the Company Manager, the Production Manager, the Music Director, Stage Managers, Visiting Artists, Dancers, Acrobats, Singers and Musicians, as well as other departments within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Teach repertoires of ongoing shows, co-create choreographies for new shows and deleted / modified tableaux in running shows.
Work with the Artistic Department in planning the overall season schedules.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee rehearsals so as to assist the Artistic team and choreographers in preparing,
rehearsing and coaching the performers
Prepare choreographies as per timecodes written by Artistic Directors and stage material from existing repertoires, where required
In consultation with the Artistic Director and in collaboration with the Artistic team,
develop the daily rehearsal schedule, which include trainings, rehearsals, fittings, notes
talks, meetings, stage calls, and/or other activities for performers and Artistic Staff
Attend all technical, light , sound and dress rehearsals to take notes for the Artistic Director and visiting
choreographers/stagers during creation and the season
Assist in coordinating and facilitating artistic needs connected to productions,
including Company productions that include new participants
Keep detailed records of all notes, reports, video recordings of trainings, meetings, choreographies, information and develop reference information for
future choreographing, rehearsals, staging and archival purposes
Be point of initial contact and organize performers showcasing, and co-creations
Program and organize solutions, formations in absences and injuries in coordination with all departments as per Director’s orders.
Assist visiting Head Choreographer and choreographers in the staging of the show notating works as or if necessary as per Artistic / Stage Director’s vision and directions.
Assist/advise with role assignments and casting where applicable.
Attend performances and critique performances with daily / weekly reports.
Support the learning, artistic and technical development, and progress of the performers.
Understand, implement and follow the Basic Agreement / House Rules between Allstars U.S.A , resorts and production teams, artistic cast.
Attend Production meetings daily.
Act as Ambassador for the Company.
Other job-related assignments as needed.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
In addition to having adaptability and attention to detail, this position
requires someone who is well-organized, trusting, and self-starting with excellent time management and communication skills.
Minimum 3 years of principal coaching or assistant choreographer, choreographer or rehearsal assistant / director experience on a wide range of multinational versatile performers and repertoire.
Minimum 5 years of experience teaching professional performers and professional performance background of her/himself.
Extensive knowledge of dance and performance repertoires.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and team building skills
Ability to work in a collaborative manner and function as part of a team.
Open-mindedness, and the ability to learn.
Dedication and commitment to the advancement of performers and shows
A respectful, positive attitude, adaptability to new work and living environments and good sense of humor are also required. Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and clearly and concisely in individual or group situations. Must interact effectively across functions and levels of the company. Must be available for onsite work 6 days a week, with average of 8 hours, nature of this work requires working on evenings and weekend hours, holidays.
Salary/Benefits: Base rate of $1,665.- gross and $1,300.- NET per week or commensurate with experience and big package of extra benefits such as free of charge accommodations, full board, with social security and health benefits.
