Description:Position Summary:(Send resume to: [email protected]) This position is solely responsible for teaching and installing entertainment offerings for the Celebrity brand, to include but not limited to production shows and themed events. This position is responsible for teaching all choreography and blocking, while honoring the original choreographer(s) & director(s) intention to a cast of 12-18 performers (dancers, vocalist, singer/dancers, & specialty artist). Will oversee including updating blocking books, creation of rehearsal videos and creation of daily rehearsal schedules. Will work with a directorial team, including a vocal and aerial director, to install all entertainment offerings onboard Celebrity Cruises. This position is directly related to the ultimate guest experience and ratings when it pertains to any of the Entertainment/Theater venues onboard and is vital to the overall daily operations of the Entertainment Production. Job description: · Working alongside a Vocal Director, Aerial Director, and any other directors, teach all choreography, staging and direction for all Production shows and Theme Events in the time frame assigned for the project. · Constant communication with office personal about cast progress, cast tracking, and rehearsal status. · Assist the Casting Specialist Dancer/Acts to choose a Dance Captain, and mentor that person as needed to set them up for success onboard and in the rehearsal process. · Together with the vocal director and any other directors on the project, complete a weekly cast progress reports, daily rehearsal schedules, install schedules and end of install reports. · Block the cast onto the onboard theatre stage safely, implementing all technical elements including stage automation, aerial and lighting. · Oversee the complete production install, ensuring staging, costumes, lights, scenery, and all aspects of the shows are held to company standard and the original integrity has been maintained. · Block the cast into appropriate venues around the ship for their Theme Events. · Update blocking books and all online digital content for each project. Qualifications: Seven to Ten years of experience in the entertainment industry to include: Directorial, teaching, and performance experience (i.e. – stage, studio, film, etc.). Cruise industry experience, both shipboard and shoreside are required. Successful experience working on projects with shoreside and shipboard personnel pertaining to various aspects productions/entertainment of the cruise industry. · Must be able to work and travel unrestricted in the US (green card, O1 work visa, etc.). Knowledge & skills: · Extensive knowledge of Dance, Gymnastics/Acrobatics; Floor Work, Aerial Work, Atmospheric Performance Skills, Ballroom Dancing, Aerial Strength Skills/Training. Past performance experience is a must in this position. · Extensive knowledge in various styles of dance. · Excellent communications skills and strong decision-making abilities. · Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. · Software: working knowledge of personal computers within a Windows environment with email, Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, and related printers and equipment. · Must have good problem-solving skills and ability to manage last minute emergencies in a calm and organized manner. · Proficient verbal and written communications skills, ability to read and interpret business documents, instructions, and related media material; able to write and generate reports. · Ability to work, interact and communicate with internal/external personnel at all levels, able to build and maintain successful business relationships throughout the department and the company as a whole. · Ability to think critically, use independent judgment and exercise decision-making skills.
