The Contemporary American Theater Festival at Shepherd University is welcoming applications for Props Artisans and Carpenters. CATF, a LORT D summer festival and leading producer of contemporary plays, is dedicated to telling diverse stories and developing new American theater. The festival premieres or produces multiple plays per season in three venues in rotating rep. CATF is committed to supporting the unique needs of new work while fostering an environment of fun and company community. Located 90 minutes from DC, CATF makes its home in one of America's coolest small towns, Shepherdstown, WV.

CATF's Props Department consists of a Prop Shop Manager, an Assistant Props Manager, two to three Props Artisans/Carpenters, and three Props Interns who all work as a team to produce and maintain props for the festival's six productions. Prop Artisans and Carpenters work under the supervision of the Prop Shop Manager and Assistant Props Manager and assist in the guidance of Props Interns. The prop shop is large, well outfitted, and is located in the same complex as the rehearsal halls and 2 of the 3 theaters.
