Description:
NoFit State is the UK’s largest touring contemporary circus company. As a creative strategic response to the challenges faced by the UK circus sector in the light of the global pandemic, NoFit State is acting as host partner for a new sector development programme, The Welsh Circus Village.
The partnership is comprised of companies and circus practitioners from the Welsh Circus and Outdoor Arts sectors collaborating to create, manage and deliver the programme.
Building on the unique environment of tented touring circus, combining creation, training, and living spaces, we will create a Covid-safe bubble for creative practitioners to come together.
Focussing on those who face bias, the project will provide support for freelance professional, emerging and community creative practitioners – creating a space within which to learn, be inspired, explore and create – and address the lack of agency and diversity within our sector.
The partnership shares the aspiration to cooperate and work together to benefit the whole of the sector with equity and mutual respect.
Purpose of Role
The Project Coordinator will work with the programme’s group leaders across the thematic strands of the programme, to ensure the smooth delivery of the Circus Village.
The Circus Village will also be supported by members of NFS company core team (Administration, Finance, Marketing & Communications) and site support crew.
This is a fixed term contract running from 24th May to 20th September 2021.
Main Responsibilities
Within The Circus Village programme, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for:
• Co-ordinating and collating participants’ expressions of interest, booking and attendance at The Circus Village, ensuring excellent communication with all potential and selected participants
• Assisting selection team with finalising attendee list and communicating selection decisions to participants
• Collating information about participants’ access needs and ensuring that these are facilitated and all needs are communicated to NFS admin team
• Supporting programme group leaders in the scheduling, logistics and resourcing of materials for The Circus Village programme prior to, and during delivery
• Work alongside programme group leaders and onsite production staff to ensure good working relations, co-ordination, clear communication and effective management of programme
• Be the first point of contact for participants on site, ensuring that all involved have received necessary site inductions, including welfare, Health & Safety and Covid protocols
• Support the work of the Diversity Champion/s to ensure the programme is accessible and free of structural or societal bias
• Effective monitoring of programme outputs and impact to feed into the programme evaluation
We encourage people from any background to apply for this post. We are committed to creating a team which is representative of our society, and to bringing together those with a variety of skills and experiences to help shape what we do and how we work.
