Description:We are seeking a Production Technician (PT) for Season Five onboard Color Line. The position is based onboard the MS Color Magic, travelling between Oslo, Norway and Kiel, Germany (two-day cruises).The role is responsible for safely operating live performances in collaboration with our Company Stage Manager (CSM) to ensure the successful delivery of each performance in each venue. Candidates must have audio experience of mixing live shows with a digital mixing console and proficient working knowledge of running pre-programmed lighting and video elements of the shows. Candidates must be a citizen/resident of a Schengen Area or European Union country. JOB TASKS · Follow company protocols and processes. · Safely and securely operate all performances, rehearsals and sound checks in collaboration with the Company Stage Manager. · Audio mixing of multitrack playback. · Audio mixing for up to 4 vocalists using: o Wireless handheld o In-ear monitoring systems (IEMs) · Conduct Pre + Post Show checks. · Complete a daily Tech Report and issue to the CSM. · Conduct regular maintenance. · Assist with the recording, editing and installation of vocal sick tracks. · Seasonal: assist with the changeover from BKCP’s mainstage performances to visiting artists and/or bands. · If required: perform basic editing of audio, lighting and video programming under the direction of our Technical Supervisor. TERMS + CONDITIONS · Salary: €130 per day (equal to €3,900 per month). · Own cabin; with all meals provided onboard. · Status: External Contractor (not Crew) · No cruise duties or IPM. · Welfare Programme includes access to WiFi, chill out lounges, gym, movie/gaming room, laundry facilities and sundeck. SCHEDULE 30 days working onboard; followed by 30 days break off of the ship for a rotation schedule of 1 year. REQUIREMENTS · The ability to operate and programme digital audio consoles. · Proficient understanding and ability to use the following technical equipment: o Yamaha CL5 Digital Mixing Console o GrandMA2 Lighting Console o Green Hippo Media Server V4 o QLab o DAW software such as Reaper or Logic o Timecoded Shows o Moving Lights o LED Screens o Projectors · The ability to conduct maintenance – including IEMs, cabling and mic packs. · The ability to perform basic editing of audio, lighting and video programming. · Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety. · Working at height will be required including the use of ladders and scissor lifts. · Candidates must hold a passport or residency within the Schengen Area or European Union; with a biometric passport valid until April 2025. · Good overall health and physical condition (to be determined by a physician). Seafarers Medical Certificate (costs covered). Age 21+.
