Summary

The Technical Director (a full-time exempt position) is responsible for the overall operation and project management of the scene shop including drafting construction drawings, calendaring, budgeting, accounting, construction and painting of scenic elements, properties management, and oversight of scene shop employees. This position collaborates closely with directors and designers to reach artistic goals with allotted resources. Once load-in begins, this position coordinates all aspects of scenic load in and rigging/overhead preparations with other departments: lighting, sound, projection, etc, for maximum efficiency and safety.
