Job Description / Duties
Job Purpose

The Production Manager oversees the entire production process, ensuring that production and technical elements are met for all shows and events on the stage, studio, lobbies, and exterior spaces and that enough resources are available to meet demand. They schedule personnel and estimate show production budgets.

This role is vital in ensuring Centre In The Square’s seamless and efficient production within a given time frame thereby boosting customer satisfaction.

The ideal Production Manager is deadline-driven. They can multitask and oversee multiple shows at once. They have excellent time management, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

Crew Management
• Foster and maintain a good working relationship with IATSE Local 357
• Supervise and monitor the daily production activities and work schedules for load-ins, performances, corporate events, load outs and other production activities
• Interpret and ensure rentals/clients adhere to collective agreements

Production Management
• Provide on-site production management during event set-up, running and strike, resolving problems as they arise
• Liaise with clients on all production matters related to their events
• Maintain positive, open lines of communication with clients and internal departments; identify potential problems and negotiate solutions which meet the needs of all parties
• Provide technical advice to internal departments on production related matters
• Schedule and rent production equipment from external suppliers to meet event requirements
• Advance and coordinate production details including catering, hospitality, security, runners, transportation, merchandise and VIP events for shows as assigned
• Assist the Production Manager with approving timesheets for crew and stage door reception

Leadership
• Supervise IATSE (per collective agreement)
• Supervise stage door receptionists
• Supervise contracted security
• Communicate and adhere to corporate, health and safety and human resources policies and ensure compliance by staff and clients/promoters
• Work in collaboration with other CITS Staff members on a day-to-day basis

Planning and Control
• Anticipate problems and initiate corrective action, keeping senior management informed of problems of a serious nature or having a broad impact
• Conduct post-mortems on events when required to identify ways to improve overall service standards and operational efficiencies

Qualifications / Required Skills
Key Qualifications

5 years of experience in production in a supervisory or management role ideally in Theatre, Live Event Production and Event Management
A degree or certificate in Theatre, Live Event Production or other related field
Trade certification, project management certification or other relevant certification is a plus
Experience in a Unionized environment
In-depth knowledge of event execution, production processes and management principles
Comprehension knowledge of quality standards and health and safety regulations
Proven record in staff safety and production training
Proficient use of Office applications and other related software Work at Heights training is a plus
First Aid and CPR certification is a plus

Working Conditions

The standard compensation for this position is based on 40 hours worked per week. The standard business hours for this position are as required by the performance schedule.
Evening, weekend working hours will be required on a regular basis. Holiday working hours may be required.
Required to wear personal protective equipment such as ear plugs or safety glasses.
May involve reaching, bending, or lifting up to 50 pounds.
Some exposure to hot and cold temperatures or inclement weather.

You will be working 40 hours per week including evenings and weekends.
Projected Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: $80,000-$85,000 annually
