Description:Job SummaryWe are seeking a Production Manager to join the team for Gwenda’s Garage, a bold new LGBTQIA+ musical. Job Description Location: Sheffield Theatre Playhouse & Southwark Playhouse Rate of Pay: £4000 + expenses Period: for 20 days (max 8 hours working day) between July and November About Gwenda's Garage: Gwenda's Garage is a bold, uplifting new musical based on the true story of 3 lesbians who opened a women-run garage in 1985 Sheffield; created and produced by Out of the Archive. Faced with everyday sexism, homophobia, and the impact of Section 28, they fought to create a space for women in manual trades, inspiring the next generation. Featuring original music and a story of activism, resilience, and community, Gwenda's Garage is a powerful celebration of working-class LGBTQ+ history and the fight for equality-one spark plug at a time. After an R&D at the Sheffield Playhouse, it will return as a full-scale production in association with Sheffield Theatres to Sheffield Playhouse and Southwark Playhouse. Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience in managing budgets and schedules, and working within tight timelines. Ability to coordinate multiple departments and ensure smooth operation of a production. Knowledge of health and safety procedures and regulations in live theatre. Job Responsibilities Overseeing production logistics: Coordinate the overall running of the production, ensuring all technical, creative, and administrative elements come together seamlessly across both venues. Managing the budget: Work with the producer and creative team to track the production budget, ensuring the show stays within financial parameters. Scheduling: Develop and manage a detailed production schedule, including rehearsals, technical runs, and performances in both locations. Liaising with departments: Coordinate between the design, technical, and artistic teams, ensuring that all departments have what they need for smooth operations. Overseeing logistics and resources: Ensure that all props, costumes, and set pieces are sourced, constructed, and transported as necessary. Manage venue and accommodation logistics for the cast and crew.
