The Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD) aims to democratize contemporary dance in all its forms and hybridities by making it more accessible to all audiences, indoors, in unusual places such as museums and in urban contexts. The FQD offers shows presented by mainly local artists, but also national and international artists. It adopts a multidisciplinary approach to creative dance through the dissemination of shows, performances, installations, films, exhibitions, meetings, round tables and finally cultural mediation workshops.

The FQD is looking for a person to fill the position of production manager. This position is closely linked to the artistic and general management, the administrative management and the communications and cultural mediation departments. You will participate in the organization of the festival in its entirety and you will have the chance to meet the artists of the FQD, its external service providers and to work in collaboration with all the members of the FQD team in a good mood and listening.

Responsibilities


Understand an artistic project and translate it into its different modalities.
Support the production of one or more events (before and during the festival) by ensuring compliance and regulatory aspects.
Administrative assistance in the drafting of contracts, collaborating in the development of budgets.
Coordinate the different actors: artists, audiences, volunteers and partner institutions.
Respect and create the production schedule in consultation with the two departments.
Main Logistics Tasks

Management of the logistics of the festival in connection with the technical director: coordination with the artists, with the places in room and in urban context, requests for permits, ticketing, needs and technical equipment...
Management of the logistics of the artists and the reception of the artistic teams: availability, performances, materials, technical needs, accommodation, travel, expenses, catering, various requests...
Coordination of creative residencies for festival artists (in the studio and in an urban context prior to the festival, in summer)
Coordination and reception of national and international broadcasters

Management and development of the programming schedule: sorting of proposals, feasibility study (technical, financial, schedule), negotiation with companies, creation of schedules
Support for the artistic direction: planning of the schedule of shows in theaters and in an urban context (coordination of appointments, etc.)
Administration

Management of volunteer recruitment (development and coordination of the volunteer calendar)
Participation in the development of the festival report and realization of a schedule of tasks for the next edition
In collaboration with the administrative and general management: develop monitoring of the production budget and that of the artists' fee schedule linked to programming
In collaboration with the administrative department: assistance and follow-up of contracts, artists' fees, administrative formalities related to possible hiring, administrative follow-up with the various partners and institutions, follow-up of reports and grant requests
And all other related tasks



Training and skills:

University degree in events or any other relevant training such as administration (in the cultural sector, an asset);
3 years' experience in event production and logistics (experience in organizing a festival, an asset);
Excellent command of the Windows environment (Excel, Word,) and the Google Suite (drive, gmail, google my business, etc.);
Excellent command of spoken and written French and English;
Excellent writing skills;
Mastery of the Adobe suite (InDesign and Photoshop).
Mastery of WordPress and Mailchimp platforms (an asset);
Required profile :

Be autonomous, proactive, meticulous, have a good sense of organization and a good ability to work in a team and in an open common space; a minimum of one year of experience in festival organization. Interest in the dance/cultural milieu, an asset.



Conditions of employment

Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week);
Teleworking possible according to the requirements of the agenda and the rules of public health;
Availability evenings and weekends during the festival period (September);
Salary to be discussed according to experience;
Interview between December 19-22, 2022 and January 03-06, 2023
Starting January 9, 2023
