Producer (freelance)

Upswing are looking for a motivated, flexible and experienced Producer to join the company on a freelance basis for a period of 6 months, with the potential to continue to a permanent salaried role from April 2020.

We have recently been awarded a multi-year grant (2019-2022) to develop our new production for families, Seasons, which takes place in partnership with libraries in Brent. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of this project. The Producer will also play a key role in the production of Upswing’s creative engagement and touring programmes in libraries, care homes and outdoor spaces.

Attributes Needed:
• Self-motivator with the ability to work proactively on their own as well as within a small team
• A can-do attitude with the energy to connect with others and create partnership opportunities
• A keen problem solver
• Proactive and flexible working approach, with willingness to travel regionally and nationally

Skills Needed:
• Experience in producing large-scale arts projects with multiple stakeholders
• Experience in delivering projects with community engagement at their heart
• Experience in working with in the performing arts sectors, in particular dance or circus
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal and advocacy skills
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritise a varied and diverse workload, working to deadlines, often independently and calmly under pressure
• Knowledge of arts evaluation processes
• Ability to create, control and monitor budgets effectively
• Strong negotiation and partnership building skills
• Excellent IT skills
• Full driving license is desirable
• Own laptop is essential
