About Diverse Voices

https://www.diversevoices.co.uk/ - Diverse Voices is a performing arts in education charity providing arts-based education furthering young people's life skills and confidence, addressing relevant, topical issues prioritised within schools and educational settings.

We work with a pool of freelance facilitators and creatives every year, providing paid roles and opportunities in our education programmes, and we are looking to recruit a wide variety of new facilitators to work with.

We are actively seeking people with a passion for the arts with equal amounts of creativity, patience, experience and energy. Diverse Voices encourages applications from people who are currently under-represented particularly in terms of ethnic and disability diversity.

The following is required:

Enhanced DBS certificate dated within the last 2-3 years - or if not, willingness to undergo DBS check
Willingness to work in locations in London and Greater London
Reliability and punctuality
Experience in working with young people
Experience in performing arts
Open and willing to learning new skills and having fun
We are looking for a varied group of facilitators, actors, dancers, musicians and creatives from a wide variety of backgrounds - and would especially like to encourage facilitators who identify as male or non-binary to apply.

Our roles vary from a few hours for a workshop / performance (plus training / rehearsal), to more permanent 7-week commitments, and are all paid roles supported by our core team - including workshop & safeguarding training and more.

We are looking for creatives with professionalism, empathy, energy and passion, to successfully support our children and young people.

Job Requirements
Key Info: Upcoming Role Examples

1. Delivering Blended Learning to KS2, KS3, KS4, for PSHE and RSE

Tackling key areas of the PSHE curriculum related to 'Relationships & Sex Education (RSE)' through our arts-based approach to learning. Working with primary and secondary schools across Boroughs of London.

Weekly facilitation of our blended learning approach, using a combination of e-learning and drama-based activities. You will facilitate lessons incorporating our e-learning resource to students on healthy/unhealthy relationships, online safety, harmful sexual behaviour, consent, laws, and much more.

After an initial dropdown day (whole class off timetable all day) where the stimulus for the learning will be a short film raising all of the topics, this will be followed by weekly follow up workshops exploring the topics in more detail through creative means; interactive debates, drama activities, role-play, devising, hot seating and more. You will be provided training.

Job Responsibilities
2. After School and Holiday Clubs

These clubs are fantastic opportunities for our facilitators to pass their amazing skills onto the next generation. You would be given a regular time slot for a set amount of weeks, within a specific skill set that you would like to teach, culminating in a short showcase of skills at the end of the ASC.

These are brilliant fun and a great opportunity to collaborate with the educational setting, on an aspect of a performing art that the setting may not provide during their hours.

Examples of clubs we currently have running: musical theatre (for example Glee, and Everything Lin Manuel Miranda), street dance, drama (for example mime, mask work, and many more), ballet, street dance, choir, gymnastics, capoeira, and many more.

These are offered to schools in London and Greater London, for students from Reception and up, and you would likely have 1 group of students from one year group per club (capped at a certain number of students).
