Description:
We are looking for a Bristol based performer to join us for several dates over summer 2024. We are ideally looking for somebody with puppetry skills, so that puppetry and presenting can be shared between yourself and the other performer. However, our biggest priority is casting somebody who loves performing for young people and their adults, so we are open to moving roles around if puppetry is a barrier.
The performance
The Zoo Keepers
Pop up performances of 4 x 15 minute shows, each featuring zoo keepers and alternating between Orangutan, Kea, Blue Iguana and Southern White Rhino puppets.
Influenced by and featuring puppets from our full length production The Zoo That Comes To You, these pop-up performances are fun, educational and interactive.
Rehearsal
Rehearsals will take place in Bristol, with 5 or 6 rehearsal days in total. Dates to be confirmed to suit everybody, please state your availability for June and July 2024.
Performance dates
Ideally we are looking for somebody that is available for all of the following performance dates - however we realise they are across three weekends. If you're not available for every date please state that in your application and we will see what we can do to make it work for everybody.Performances are all commutable from Bristol, if you do not have your own transport we can arrange lift shares with the company.
July: 20th, 21st, 26th (tbc), 27th
August: 4th
Rate of pay for rehearsal and performance days
In line with ITC rates for 2024/25
Daily rate: £126
Weekly rate (if more than 4 consecutive days): £527

Closing date for applications is 9am on Thursday 16th May 2024. We aim to be contacting shortlisted applicants by 19th May to arrange video call/meetings, and we will reply to all applications regardless of whether they are being taken onto the next stage.
