Description:Patternmaker - Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group - Las Vegas Costume ShopLAS VEGAS, NV /CORPORATE – COSTUMES ET ACCESSOIRES | COSTUMES AND PROPS /TEMPS PLEIN | FULL-TIME/ ON-SITE ***As this position in based in the United States, the job description is available in English only.** Patternmaker Full-Time Position We are looking for our next Patternmaker to join our Costume team. In this position, you will be working on costume designs, new builds, and alternations/fittings of existing costumes. The Patternmaker will work closely with the Show and Workroom teams to ensure standards follow APTO (artistic, performance, technical and operational) standards. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and organizational skills. The Costume Patternmaker Will: - Create costume creations with costume makers from concept to finished product - Develop production plan for new concepts and builds - Estimate patterning and build time and fabric/materials needed for new construction projects - Perform fittings on new and existing costumes - Document artist’s measurements - Alter existing costume patterns as needed for accurate fit - Use Optiex for new pattern work and any corrections as needed - Communicate any pattern corrections and alterations to Montreal International Headquarters (IHQ) - Work closely with designers and design assistants - Assist with fabric and material selection - Collaborate with Leads, Supervisor and other departments as needed to ensure clear technical and construction communication - Complete all other job-related duties as assigned The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: - College Diploma in a related field; or equivalent work-related experience - At least 10 years experience in patternmaking, draping and costume construction - Minimum 10 years experience with large scale theatrical productions - Flat pattern, pattern draping, stitching experience is required - Knowledge of fabrics, stretch and woven, stitching and finishing techniques - Experience working with digital patternmaking software (Optiex) preferred - Familiarity with acrobatic costumes is an asset - Fluent in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of French and/or other languages is an asset; - Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one’s identity and work authorization; As you can imagine, working with a circus can be quite different from other organizations, and at Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, we embrace these differences loudly with enthusiasm.
