Across our Resort we have two fantastic LEGO themed Hotels, a Water Park, a SEA LIFE Aquarium, more than 60 rides and attractions, 20 food and beverage locations, and 14 retail stores – the opportunities here are endless!We're now looking for a Park AV Technician 1 to join the team. About the Role Advanced working knowledge of audio visual systems and equipment. Possess the skills to work independently on maintenance, troubleshooting, and code compliance of AV systems. Knowledge to train others on equipment and programming of show control systems. Ability to lead others through a project and act as crew chief during installations and facility maintenance. Supports and assists the Entertainment Management team at all times. 1. Advanced working knowledge of AV/Show Control systems supporting retail, restaurant and outdoor spaces. 2. Proven ability to build and install a complete system to support an audio or video installation. 3. Ability to lead a crew of five or more through preparation and installation of assigned projects. 4. Ensure code compliance on all installations to include; · DOSH & OSHA requirements · CBC- California Building Code · CEC – California Electrical Code · NFPA – National Fire Protection Association · APCD – Air Pollution Control District · itle-24 – Energy Efficiency Program 5. Certification or complete understanding to repair and trouble-shoot AV systems within a discipline or venue. Acquire equipment brand certification for repair and maintenance as needed. 6. Successfully demonstrated the ability to solve problems relating to the subject matter at work. 7. Strong computer skills, able to create Excel and Word documents. 8. Strong understanding of LEGOLAND safety regulations and procedures. 9. Proven ability to complete an assignment independently or while leading others. 10. Outstanding leadership skills, able to build and maintain respect from peers. 11. Strong communicator able to clearly present ideas verbally and through written documents. 12. Proficient in discussing projects with internal partners, vendors or sub-contractors. 13. Able to produce visual documentation of show systems or venue plots. (i.e. signal flow, show control systems, wiring diagrams, etc.) 14. Develop Standard Operating Procedures for routine maintenance and daily operation. 15. Strong organizational skills, able to manage equipment inventory. 16. Advanced knowledge of AV systems and locations. 17. Self-motivated to build contacts and relationships with peers in the industry. 18. Conduct timely safety assessments for show venues, repair shop and storage areas. 19. Assists as required in all emergency procedures as outlined by emergency plan. 20. Demonstrate strong customer service skills with an awareness of guest satisfaction. 21. Personal conduct reflecting the Merlin Values. Background and Experience: Requires at least four years of experience in technical services or equivalent experience. Requires excellent organizational and planning skills. Self motivated and demonstrated initiative. Leads by example with a demonstrated history of supporting colleagues, as a team player. Strong problem solving skills and dedicated to providing outstanding guest service. Requires the ability to remain calm under pressure. Education: A high school diploma or general education degree (or equivalent education and experience) is preferred. Other Requirements: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations. Requires Pre-employment placement physical.
