Description:
Because of the increasing demand in male and female high bar specialists on our show Alegria, the Cirque du Soleil Casting team is currently recruiting for an upcoming training program starting in March 2020.
Location: Montreal (Quebec), Canada.
Training duration: approximately 3 months.
Lodging and pay during training is provided by Cirque du Soleil.
After the training, gymnasts will be prioritized when a position in Alegria becomes available.
Requirements:
-age 18 or older
-maximum height of 170 cm (5``7`)
-maximum weight of 64 kg (141 pounds)
-high level training and competitive experience, at a national/international level in artistic gymnastics
-comfortable with heights
-excellent level of overall fitness including strength and flexibility
-high degree of consistency in skill execution
-ability to adapt to new apparatus, environments and group training styles.

-one demo video featuring the following elements:
FOR FEMALE GYMNASTS ONLY:
recent footage showing all your best skills on uneven bars and your best tumbling passes on floor and/or fast track.
FOR MALE GYMNASTS ONLY:
recent competition footage (mention date) – 2 minutes of high bar
high bar training footage must include the following skills:
-Kip, cast, 3 giants, back layout dismount
-Kip, small cast, ‘’under swing to back uprise’’, to under swing ... (3 times in a row)
-Giant hop
-Hecht (‘’Heck’’)
-Giant, toe-on, giant
-Tkatchev from ‘’regular giant’’ and/or Gienger (or Deltchev) and/or Jager
-Kovacs
-Double layout dismount
Other dismount or release.
FOR ALL GYMNASTS:
-a presentation to the camera (including a face and full-body shot): tell us about yourself your background and your training and competitive experience – 1 minute
-flexibility (the three splits, bridge, shoulders, pike position) – 1 minute
strength (legless rope climb, pull-ups, piked leg lifts) – 2 minutes
-a demonstration of your skills in other disciplines, if applicable (e.g. parkour, tricking, trampoline, tramp wall, dance…) – 2 minutes.
Submission deadline: December 3rd, 2019.
Important information:
Only complete applications (including resumé and demo video) will be evaluated by a casting Talent Scout. Please note that we will only be contacting selected candidates.
