Summary of Position
George Street Playhouse, a professional, producing theatre company 40 minutes from Manhattan, seeks experienced sticher for the build of the upcoming production of, Ebenezer Scrooge's Big NJ Christmas Show, at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center.
Essential Job Duties
● Assisting the Costume Shop with sewing and finishing costumes for the show
● Performing alterations and repairs
● Helping the Costume Shop with the set up and take down of fittings
Requirements:
● Strong sewing and garment construction skills
● Proficiency in hand sewing, machine sewing (both domestic and industrial, including sergers/overlock machines), and advanced garment construction.
● Skilled in using tools for pressing, finishing, and applying closures like snaps, buttons, and zippers
● Attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, follow instructions, and meet deadlines
The Opportunity
Position pays an hourly rate of $27.50 an hour with OT after 40 hours. Position begins on November 3, 2025 and runs through December 4, 2025. Specific days and hours will be worked out with the Costume Shop Manager based on needs and availability.
