The International Market of Contemporary Circus (MICC) , produced by La TOHU (Montréal, Québec, Canada), brings together a global community of professionals dedicated to the creation, presentation and touring of contemporary circus in North America and around the world, year-round online and each July in Montréal. This four-day professional gathering runs in parallel with the Montréal Complètement Cirque (MCC) festival and annually brings together 350 professionals from 28 different countries. La TOHU, the driving force behind MCC and MICC, is based in the Cité des Arts du Cirque, which is also home to the headquarters of Cirque du Soleil and the National Circus School.

To conclude the project “ Opening New Markets for Circus Arts” (read more about the previous activities), Circuscentrum will be attending the MICC with a Flemish delegation. This year, the professional programme of the MICC will focus on various regions, including Flanders and Catalonia. In addition, the programme will offer pitch sessions, showcases, networking activities, in-depth sessions on specific themes and guided tours of Cirque du Soleil and the National Circus School. The full programme will be launched by the MICC in early April 2025. It will be the first time that Circuscentrum will be present at the MICC with a Flemish delegation.
For whom?
Circuscentrum wants to give circus professionals from Flanders/Brussels the opportunity to join the Flemish delegation to broaden their international network, to get to know the North American market, the International Market of Contemporary Circus (MICC) , the festival Montréal Complètement Cirque and the Cité des arts du cirque in Montréal. This call is primarily aimed at programmers, organisations with a focus on circus creation and distribution agencies.
Are you an artist and do you want to participate? You can sign up for the call for the MICC pitch session . This will be published at the end of February and will also be shared via our channels. Selected artists based in Flanders/Brussels within this MICC call will also receive the financial support mentioned below and will join the Flemish delegation.

An overseas move to Canada is not cheap. Below is a rough estimate of the expected costs for a stay from July 5 to 12 including travel days.

Circuscentrum provides financial support to circus professionals who wish to join the Flemish delegation. This financial support amounts to a maximum of 1000 euros per participant and is aimed at programmers/organisations focused on circus creation/dissemination agencies that

Circuscentrum can provide financial support for a maximum of 8 people. Participants/organizations who do not wish to use the financial support and participate in MICC 2025 are of course welcome to join the Flemish delegation. They can also register for the Flemish delegation via the steps below.

Do you want to join the Flemish delegation? Let us know by 28 February at the latest via the Circuscentrum form . Here you can also indicate whether you want to apply for financial support and motivate your application. If you qualify, we will let you know by 7 March at the latest and Circuscentrum will reimburse your expenses up to a maximum of 1000 euros based on proof of expenses.
Participants in the Flemish delegation who receive financial support will receive a 50% discount on the MICC participation fee
Participants in the Flemish delegation who do not receive financial support pay the early bird fee for the MICC
MICC will launch the program and registration in early April 2025.
