Description:

A prominent luxury cruise line is seeking an Entertainment & Engagement Manager. This pivotal leadership role focuses on guest engagement and creating unforgettable experiences. We are looking for a vibrant, highly social individual who excels at fostering genuine connections with guests. This position follows a rotational schedule: four months onboard followed by two months off, with single cabin accommodation provided. Compensation includes a competitive monthly salary of $7,500 to $8,500, plus a 4% vacation pay and a 7% Sailing Assignment Return Bonus (SARB). The Entertainment & Engagement Manager's primary mission is to cultivate an atmosphere of continuous guest interaction and enjoyment. This requires exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills. The successful candidate will be central to the onboard social scene, ensuring every guest feels connected and valued. Key responsibilities include dedicating significant time to actively engaging with guests, building rapport, and facilitating connections between guests, crew, and the brand. The manager will serve as the charismatic host for various evening events, such as themed dance parties and interactive games, and collaborate with the Hotel General Manager to orchestrate signature events like the Captain's Welcome Reception and Farewell Gala. Daytime activities involve designing, hosting, and leading engaging programs, with a minimum of four on sea days and two on port days. Creativity is encouraged for developing new options, from trivia to culinary demonstrations and fitness walks. The role also involves producing and directing the highly anticipated Crew Show, ensuring a diverse and high-quality showcase of talent. The manager will maintain an approachable presence, interacting with guests daily across the ship, and assist guests with practical concerns, documenting issues, directing them to appropriate staff, and following up for resolution. Leadership duties include overseeing and inspiring the onboard AV Manager, the Band, and the Duo, fostering a collaborative and high-performing entertainment team. The manager will partner with the Hotel General Manager and corporate entertainment leadership to conceptualize and implement innovative new events and activities, and manage the scheduling of all non-destination-specific entertainment and enrichment programs. This also involves producing and proofreading the daily guest program and onboard digital content. Operational excellence is crucial, ensuring maximum efficiency in all entertainment operations, upholding standard operating procedures, and monitoring key performance indicators to maintain exceptional guest satisfaction and a positive crew environment. The manager will contribute to organizational development by analyzing processes, identifying improvements, and providing feedback to the corporate office on industry trends and new concepts. Staff development responsibilities include working with the Hotel General Manager to oversee training, conduct performance evaluations, and foster continuous improvement for the musical talent onboard. The role also requires fulfilling General Emergency Organization duties and acting as a positive brand ambassador, fostering professional relationships across all departments and promoting a culture of excellence. Qualifications include a natural inclination for human connection and engagement, proficiency in social media and basic photography for content creation, and extensive experience in entertainment, enrichment, and customer engagement roles. Exceptional Emcee skills and creative insight are required, along with a foundational understanding of audio-visual equipment. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate musicians and guest entertainers with authority and compassion, possess strategic planning capabilities with strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities, and exhibit outstanding communication skills for relating to diverse guests and crew members. A proactive, hands-on management style, thriving in a fast-paced, demanding environment, is essential. Possession of STCW 5-Part Basic Training (plus Security Awareness) certification is also required.
