Description:Casting Call for Two Musicians with Hawaiian heritage with extensive stage experience and charisma for our new resident show in Hawaii.Location: Honolulu, Hawai’i Project Description: Cirque du Soleil Entertainment and Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel have teamed up to create a bespoke new show, exclusive to Waikiki, Hawai’i. Celebrating the rich culture of Hawai’i, honoring the traditions of Hawaiian culture. The Creative team is seeking musicians who exhibit technical proficiency at a professional level and are comfortable with authentic, traditional Hawaiian music, as well as have experience playing a variety of popular genres. This show will be highly interactive and immersive. Requirements:Character trait:* 18 years or older. * Be ready to relocate in Honolulu if needed. * Artist with Hawaiian heritage Qualifications. * Must be a charismatic and versatile musician. * Must be able to read sheet music. * Must have professional live performance experience. * Must be comfortable performing in an immersive atmosphere. * Knowledge of Ableton software, an asset. * Singing experience is a plus, but not required. Percussionist position requirement * Ability to play professionally traditional Hawaiian percussion*. * Ability to play professionally hand drums, various drums, and other percussion instruments. * Ability to play traditional Hawaiian, string*, or wind instruments* is an asset. Multi-instrumentalist position requirement * Ability to play professionally the Ukulele at a very good level. * Ability to play professionally nylon strings, acoustic and electric guitars. * Ability to play steel, lap steel, or pedal steel guitar is an asset. * Ability to play traditional Hawaiian percussion, string, or woodwind instruments is an asset. Prepare To Present:A current resumeA demo playing one or several listed above instruments A video that demonstrates your charisma and stage experience. A short (1-2 minutes) presentation to the camera: tell us about yourself, your achievements, your goals etc..
